Happy New Year!

It all begins with a Work Weekend!

This weekend is the first of our fortnightly Winter Work Weekends. We will be working at Kemsley Down on both days from 10am until about 4pm.

Look out for the return of the Newsletter!

The Newsletter will return to your in-box this week. Be sure to subscribe – see this page for details.

If you have anything you would like to have added to the newsletter please email newsletter@sklr.net

It has been overhauled so it will be shorter than before, although we have a lot to catch-up on and there is a lot happening at the Railway right now so we’ll see if it is/stays shorter!

Photo of the Week

This feature has escaped from the Newsletter to appear here, for now at least, so here’s a photo of the new platform at Sittingbourne Viaduct station which enables step-free access from the car park to the train for the first time. Phase 1 saw the first section of platform replaced, the rest will be done during the Autumn this year. There’s more information on the reconstruction of the platform in the Newsletter and on the Work Weekends page.

Many thanks to Swale Borough Council, Ibstock and Seymour Transportation Ltd. for the concrete beams that form the structural support of the new platform.
