This week (24-30th November 2025)

The coal stage floor has been removed, it will (by next season) be filled with concrete but in the meantime sleepers will have to be laid.

The excitement is mounting as we get closer to Santa Specials but there are still tons of jobs to do before Santa arrives.

There will be an additional working day on Wednesday this week to erect the marquee and prepare the Footplate Café for Christmas. The train also needs cleaning and decorating.

This weekend (29/30th November) is also a Work Weekend during which some of the bigger jobs need to be tackled – lights at Sittingbourne Viaduct, moving sleepers to the coal stage and laying them in the hole that’s already there, build a new end wall to the canopied area outside the Footplate Café etc.

Wednesday’s hours will be 10am until 2pm.

Saturday and Sunday’s hours will be 10am until about 4pm.

Santa Specials

Trains are now filling fast so please book soon to avoid disappointment. Some Santa Specials are already fully booked. If your preferred train is fully booked, and you can’t do any of the others, please add your details to the Waitlist – if any space becomes available we will contact you.

There will be NO turn-up-and-go tickets available on the day.
