Carriage & Wagon

Coach 657 had its internal and external walls replaced in 2019/20, the previous marine ply sides have been replaced with tongue-in-groove planking. The coach was outcropped as a luggage van with no seats in the passenger saloon.
The Carriage & Wagon Team work on the Railway’s carriages and wagons, self-explanatory really!
They have recently converted the Chattenden & Upnor Railway coaches to compartment coaches to provide social distancing for our COVID-19 Timetable. They also replaced the exterior and internal walls of Coach 657 and returned it to service as a Bowaters Luggage Van for the same train.
Chattenden & Upnor Railway Coach No.204 is still undergoing a complete rebuild and work is always required to maintain the operational fleet.
They are based at Kemsley Down and work every Wednesday and some Saturdays/Sundays – email SaturdayGang@sklr.net for more information or to volunteer to help the gang.
