This weekend (28th February – 6th March)

The next Work Weekend is Saturday/Sunday 12/13th March.

There’s a lot of work to be carried out at the Railway before we reopen next month.

We work from 10am until 4pm and will be working on several projects from a coach rebuild and building repairs to getting our oldest narrow gauge steam locomotive, Premier, back in service.

If you would like to help out, please email info@sklr.net to arrange access as we will be working at Kemsley Down.

Three Brazils Weekend

For one weekend only – all three of our Kerr, Stuart & Co. Brazil class locomotives will be working together. This is a first in preservation – Premier is returning to service after 38 years and Leader will be retiring from service for an overhaul. Premier has been overhauled and rebuilt into as close to original condition as we could manage safely. The image above compares the three locomotives and highlights several of the differences between them.
