This week (26th January – 1st February)

A busy week at the Railway with Premier’s boiler off on a road trip and another Work Weekend. 

Wednesday 28th January – Premier’s boiler will be leaving the Railway for a trip to the North Norfolk Railway where it is to be overhauled. An anonymous benefactor has paid the transportation fees and some of the cost of the overhaul although we will soon be launching an appeal to buy new tubes for the boiler. 

Saturday 31st January – Work Weekend – the main focus will be Sittingbourne Viaduct station which needs tidying up, there’s a lot of bush trimming, weeding and general maintenance to be carried out here. A Works Train to Kemsley Down will also be running for those working there. Meet at Sittingbourne Viaduct station 9.50am for a 10am start or the 10am Works Train.

Sunday 1st February – Work Weekend – this will be Kemsley Down based, the Works Train will depart at 10am as usual.

Saturday 21st February – SOS Film Night – this month the movie will The Railway Children, 6.30pm for 7pm start at Screen @ The Avenue, Avenue Theatre, Central Avenue, Sittingbourne – tickets can be booked through their website or by calling 01795 471140 – all tickets are £5

Saturday 28th February & Sunday 1st March – Tenterden Model Railway Exhibition – our Away Sales Team will be representing the Railway at this event with the sales stand, selling souvenirs, books and toys
