This week (1st-7th July) – it’s Steam & Beer!

This weekend is Steam & Beer (6th & 7th July). Click on the image below for the trailer.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Steam & Beer is held over the weekend with live music on Saturday and family entertainment on Sunday. A special timetable and fares are applicable for the event. The fares are:

  • Adults (aged 18+) – £12 including the return rail ticket, entrance to the beer festival and first pint
  • Senior Citizens – £11 including the return rail ticket, entrance to the beer festival and first pint
  • Young adults (aged 16-17) – £9 including return rail ticket and entrance to the beer festival
  • Children (aged 3-15) – £5.50 including return rail ticket and entrance to the beer festival
  • Infants (aged under 3) – free
  • SKLR members
    • Adult members (aged 18+) – £6 including return rail ticket, entrance to the beer festival and first pint
    • Young adult/child members – £2 including return tickets and entrance to the beer festival.

Tickets can only be purchased on the day, so pleases arrive around 15 minutes before the train departs to buy your tickets. Credit and debit cards (except American Express) are accepted.

We will be operating a CASH ONLY bar to reduce the queues. Here is the draft beer list (this may be changed at short notice due to beer condition or delivery issues):

The beer prices are based on the Alcohol By Volume (ABV) rating:

  • 4% ABV and under – £3.20 per pint
  • 4.1-4.9% ABV – £3.50 per pint
  • 5% ABV and over – £3.80 per pint

The ciders will all cost £3.20 per pint and are:

  • Hard Core 7.5% ABV
  • Pennypot 5.5% ABV
  • Strawberry 5.5% ABV
  • Raspberry 5.5% ABV
  • Blackcurrant 5.5% ABV
  • Elderflower 5.5% ABV
  • Rhubarb 5.5% ABV
  • Mango 5.5% ABV

Souvenir pint glasses will be available for purchase whilst stocks last.

Food & drink will be available from the Footplate Café (which now has air-conditioning) and the museum and Shop will be open throughout this event.

Saturday

Trains depart Sittingbourne Viaduct as follows: 11am, 11.45am, 12.30pm, 1.15pm, 2pm, 2.45pm, 3.30pm, 4.15pm, 5pm, 6.50pm, 7.50pm and 8.50pm

Trains return from Kemsley Down at: 12.05pm, 12.50pm, 1.35pm, 2.20pm, 3.05pm, 3.50pm, 4.35pm, 5.20pm, 6.20pm, 7.20pm, 8.20pm, 9.20pm and 10.20pm

The journey takes about 15 minutes. There will be no access to Kemsley Down other than by train. 

At Kemsley Down we will have live music from 12pm until 10pm.

There will also be a barbecue.

Sunday

Trains depart Sittingbourne Viaduct station at: 11am, 11.45am, 12.30pm, 1.15pm, 2pm, 2.45pm, 3.30pm, 4.15pm, 5.pm and 5.45pm

Trains return from Kemsley Down at: 12.05pm, 12.50pm, 1.35pm, 2.20pm, 3.05pm, 3.50pm, 4.35pm, 5.20pm and 6.30pm.

The journey takes about 15 minutes. There will be no access to Kemsley Down other than by train.
