This week (23rd-29th September) – End of Season Gala Weekend

The end is nigh, this weekend is the End of Season Gala Weekend and we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Handover of the Railway by Bowaters Paper Mills. Trains will be running on Saturday and Sunday, click the link for more information.

The Paper Mill micropub’s Mobile Bar will be selling real ale, you can even buy a Steam & Beer glass to enjoy it in.

The Garden Railway is also holding a Gala Weekend, with Bowaters Models’ sales stand alongside.

Steam rollers will be on display over the weekend and a miniature traction engine will be on display on Sunday

There’s plenty to see and do at Kemsley Down too, particularly the Wheels of Time exercise for children, the museum, shop and Footplate Café so allow two hours for a relaxed visit.

The Footplate Café now has air conditioning so if the breeze off Milton Creek isn’t enough, you can cool down in the Café!

Return fares for the 2019 Season are:

  • Adults – £7
  • Concessions – £6
  • Children (aged 3-15) – £3.50
  • Children (under 3) – free
  • Family (2 adults and up to 4 children) – £20
  • Other fares are available such as rover and single tickets

Santa Specials can now be booked by calling 01795 428269, one train is already filling fast so book early to avoid disappointment. Pre-booking is essential for this event. Unfortunately, we currently don’t have online booking facilities.
