This week (20-26th September 2021) – Gala Weekend

This weekend is our End of Season Gala Weekend will be held this weekend.

Trains will be departing Sittingbourne Viaduct station every 40 minutes from 11am until 4.20pm, hauled by a steam or diesel locomotive:

  • 11:00 – Leader
  • 11:40 – Melior
  • 12:20 – Victor
  • 13:00 – Leader
  • 13:40 – Melior
  • 14:20 – Victor
  • 15:00 – Leader
  • 15:40 – Melior
  • 16:20 – Victor

Something to look out for, if you’d like to see an unusual train, is the 5pm empty train to Kemsley Down will be hauled by Leader with Melior on the rear of the train. There are a number of locations on Mill Way and Gas Road that would be good for viewing the train, alternatively there’s Milton Creek Country Park or the Saxon Shore Way.

Bowaters Models, the Crafty Camper and Rhoda the Roller will be attending this event.

September fares

  • Adult return: £7.50
  • Senior citizen return: £6.50
  • Child (3-15 years) return: £3.50
  • Infants (aged under 3): free
  • Family (2 adults and up to 4 children) return: £21

Santa Specials

Santa Specials tickets are now available for booking from TicketSource, for the weekends in December before Christmas and Monday 20th December. Some trains have already sold out. This year’s fares are:

  • Adults (anyone aged 16 or over or children who do not wish to receive a gift from Santa): £13.50 – fare includes return trip and seasonal refreshments
  • Children (aged 3-15): £13.50 – fare includes return trip, a quality gift from a selection in Santa’s Grotto and a personalised Christmas card
  • Infants (aged under 3): £10.00 – fare includes return trip, a quality gift from a selection in Santa’s Grotto and a personalised Christmas card
  • Adult members (aged 16 or over or children who do not wish to receive a gift from Santa): £7.00 – fare includes return trip and seasonal refreshments
  • Child members (aged 3-15): £10.00 – fare includes return trip, a quality gift from a selection in Santa’s Grotto and a personalised Christmas card.


What’s happening this month (September)?

  • Saturday 25th – Gala Weekend – trains depart Sittingbourne Viaduct station regularly from 11am
  • Sunday 26th – Gala Weekend – trains depart Sittingbourne Viaduct station regularly from 11am.

What’s happening next month?

If the day is in bold red – Leader should be operating the trains whereas if it is green, Melior is running. On Gala Weekend both steam locomotives and a diesel will be running (subject to availability).
