This week (13-19th March)
The Railway is closed until Good Friday, 14th April, however that does not mean that nothing’s happening!
Next weekend is a Work Weekend – everyone’s welcome to come along and help out at the Railway.
Due to essential maintenance work to Milton Regis Viaduct there will be no Works Trains for the remaining Work Weekends – instead please park close to the entrance in Kemsley Paper Mill Car Park at 9.45am for a 10am pick up.
Please do not attempt to access the Railway on foot or by car without the required security passes.
If you are arriving by train or would like to access the Railway on foot via the Saxon Shore Way please email volunteer@sklr.net to arrange.
Work continues on projects throughout the year so the Work Weekends are not the only way to help out – our track gang, for example, work every Sunday and Wednesday so there’s often someone working on the Railway – to offer assistance on a non-Work Weekend day, please email volunteer@sklr.net
Don’t forget that we are currently raising money to buy stays for steam locomotive ‘Premier’ and our second podcast of the new series – Sittingbourne’s Steam Railway Podcast is available here, at iTunes or You Tube. The best way to listen to it is through the Sittingbourne’s Steam Railway Podcast App which is available from your app store – you will receive bonus features too; such as monthly calendar pages and videos.
You can now download our timetable leaflet – SKLR Timetable 2017.
