Junior Members

Who are the Junior Members?

Many of you reading this now may think that the railway is just run by adults but you are mistaken. SKLR Junior membership is from the ages of 14-17 and we get to take part in the running of the railway.

At present there are seven active juniors, Ali, Tim, Sam, Dan, Ash, Joel and Nath. This number is steadily increasing and we love to welcome new members.

What Jobs can Junior Members do?
As Junior members we take part in a lot of the running of the Railway. We do many jobs from TTI (Travelling Ticket Inspector), ASM (Assistant Station Master), assisting in the Footplate Café and much more including maintainance throughout the year.

How do I become a Junior Menber?
To become a Junior member you can either print off a membership form and sent it to us. Or even better you could come down on an open day and talk to any volunteer Junior or Adult and they will give you a Membership form and all the information that you need. Junior Membership is £5 a year and is from ages 14-17. (You will need a parent or guardian to sign the form).

When can I start?
You can start on an open day or on a works day (for open dates look at the Timetable & Fares page). Just as soon as you are 14. For more details contact us, our details are all on the Contacting Us page.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT THE RAILWAY
