Charity fundraising event this Saturday (7th June)

Some of the regulars from The Paper Mill micropub, in Sittingbourne, will be undertaking a Pump Trolley Challenge from Kemsley Down to Sittingbourne Viaduct and return, in aid of the Great Ormond Street Hospital, this Saturday morning.

They would love to be cheered along so here’s where you can see them on their journey:

  • There will be a free train from Sittingbourne Viaduct at 9.30am to drop people off at Milton Regis (Asda) Halt or other lineside locations or to the start of the challenge at Kemsley Down – passenger numbers are limited on this train so please arrive early to avoid disappointment
  • Sittingbourne’s Steam Railway passes through Milton Creek Country Park so there are numerous vantage points there
  • The Swale Way bridge between Kemsley Paper Mill and Eurolink would also be a great place to watch the start and end of the challenge as you can see all the way from Milton Creek Country Park to Kemsley Down
  • Mill Way and Gas Road (the road to the rubbish tip) where you will see them crossing Milton Regis Viaduct
The challenge starts at 10am from Kemsley Down, we don’t know how long they will take to get to Sittingbourne and back but you will be able to follow their progress on Twitter – www.twitter.com/SandKLR or @SandKLR
